Shaker Sleigh Bed

Built from solid cherry, maple or oak my Shaker sleigh bed is designed for use with a 10" to 12" thick mattress. Maple slats fit into individual notches in the ledger strips inside each side rail to provide a strong platform that will still allow your mattress to breath. All king size platform beds also have a fifth leg in the center of the bed to provide additional support. Knock down mortise and tenon joinery is used for the side rails but the headboard and footboard come fully assembled so blanket wrapped shipping is necessary if you will not be picking the bed up at my workshop. As with all my furniture, our Shaker sleigh bed comes with a lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. (Guarantee does not apply in cases of abuse, misuse or neglect nor to normal wear and tear.) In addition, if for any reason you are not fully satisfied with your sleigh bed you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price. (We do not refund shipping costs and do not a ccept returns of customized beds. Returned beds must be in resellable condition.)

Bed Height: This bed is designed to accept a mattress that is 10" to 12" thick. A 12" thick mattress will put the top of the mattress at the bottom of the headboard. The slats that support the mattress are 14.75" off the floor so the top of a 12" thick mattress will be 26.75" off the floor.

The inside dimensions of the bed frame are 1" longer and wider than the standard mattress size to allow for bedding.

The base prices for Shaker platform beds are cherry, maple or oak and include a slatted hardwood platform for your mattress. No box spring is required. King size beds also include a center support beam and post.

The following optional items are also available:

All beds are built to order so that the headboard can be placed at the correct height in relation to the top of your mattress. When we receive your order we will contact you to get the thickness of your mattress or mattress and box spring. If you will be purchasing a new mattress but haven't picked it out yet please don't let that keep you from ordering your bed now. We typically have an 12-16 week backlog so you'll have at least a few weeks to get your mattress dimensions to us. Placing your order right away will get your bed in our production schedule while you pick out a mattress. All types of mattresses can be used on our beds.
