I have had many requests from amateur woodworkers for plans for my furniture as well as inquiries about learning more about woodworking. In response to these request I am now offering the following products that I think amateur woodworkers will be interested in.
For several years I have toyed around with the idea of offering quality kits of some of my pieces. I now am offering my new Revolving Bookcase as a kit as well as finished and assembled. Check it out!
Book Shop
I now have a bookshop where you can learn more about the books that I used to learn about woodworking, the Shakers and Shaker furniture. I have included a short review of each book to help you choose the book that best fits your needs. Included among these books are several that feature good plans for Shaker furniture. Clicking on the title of a book will take you to Amazon.com where you can purchase most of these books at 10-30% off list price.

Plans
While I do have drawings for my furniture, the drawings that I use are fairly basic. Because I know how I build my furniture I don't bother with all the construction details when I do my drawings. I use the drawings to get the proportions correct and to show the customer what the piece will look like. For woodworkers who just need the basic dimensions of my furniture these drawings will suffice. For those woodworkers who need construction details these drawings will not be sufficient. As time permits I will be doing more detailed plans of the more popular drawings. Please note these drawings are for amateur woodworkers who will be building the pieces for their own use only. You may not sell the pieces you make or sell, duplicate or otherwise distribute my drawings or plans. Prices for drawings are $8.00 each. Prices for plans will depend on the detail involved. To order drawings go to drawing order form. If you are interested in plans email me at rbissell@sover.net with your request. To view my furniture use the links to the left or start at the furniture catalog contents page.
One of the most time consuming processes in building solid wood furniture is making the glued up panels necessary for the project. This process is made even more difficult and time consuming if you do not have the proper equipment. The real fun of woodworking comes after the panels are made. Save yourself time and aggravation by buying your panels. Your panels will be made with the same attention to grain matching that I give to the panels I make for my own furniture. The lumber is face jointed flat prior to planing and is wide belt sanded to 180 grit after glue up to ensure flat, chip free panels. Go to panel order form for prices and to order.
In this one day demonstration workshop you will be taught all the basic construction techniques you'll need to know to build furniture in your own home shop. The techniques taught will be centered around the basic home woodworking shop power tools:
