Richard Bissell Fine Woodworking sells handmade furniture that is unsurpassed in quality. Our furniture designs use clean lines and are influenced by Shaker furniture, which uses the wood as the design and very little ornamentation. Since most people don’t have an unlimited budget, Shaker furniture designs help save money while still giving you the beautiful furniture you want.

All of the handmade furniture is built to order. The furniture listed on this website is just a sample. You can get the exact dimensions, wood and details you want. Usually there is little or no charge for the customization of standard pieces.

We have all different types of furniture. Beds are one of the most important purchases you can make and it’s important to have them constructed properly. We build solid wood beds and solid wood bedroom furniture. The wood you request is the wood you get. It’s not a finish on a cheaper wood.

Just like our solid wood beds, our other bedroom furniture is solid wood as well. We have a variety of night tables, bureaus, armoires, chests and television cabinets to choose from and customize.

We have a variety of Shaker furniture to choose from. You can choose Shaker style nightstands, tables, and television stands.

There are no shortcuts in the construction of your pieces. We want the furniture to last many generations.

If you are looking for custom furniture, Bissell Woodworking can help. Many of the standard pieces we sell now started off as custom furniture pieces. Choosing a wood can be a difficult decision so we offer wood samples that can be ordered to help make your decision. If you don’t see the wood offered that you would like your furniture made in, contact us for pricing and availability.

For custom pieces we can work off a sketch, photo or just a description. You can see some custom furniture we have made by looking in the custom furniture gallery.

The best effort is made to get your furniture completed as soon as possible. You can usually expect your order to be ready for shipping in about 8 to 12 weeks. Our furniture is guaranteed to last. We guarantee our furniture against defects in materials and workmanship for life. Although rarely necessary, we will make repairs to your handmade furniture if required.
